GILES plays Hendrix

‘GILES plays Hendrix’

Has kind of a ring to it, don’t you think?

We could do a nice poster with an image of Hendrix worked into it. Nothing too tacky.

It wouldn’t be a cover band of course, more like ‘interpreters’. And let’s face it, nobody ever managed to top Hendrix when it comes to juicy guitar music.

I think we could pull it off too. All we need is a couple of days of rehearsal and we are good to go. Piet and Terry would come from the UK for a week if I asked them to. The sun would make a nice change for them.

It seems Valencia has quite a few good music venues. I will have to go and check them out.

Just think though, the three of us, back on the road. Just like old times.

Things Are Gonna Change

by on Jun.17, 2010, under Music

I found out from Taxi this morning that the music supervisor of a new TV series is looking a suitable song, and the deadline was today!

“Think ‘The Simple Life’ meets ‘Extreme Makeover’. Lyrics about ‘making dreams happen’ will give you an edge.”

So….

I put my translation project to one side for the day, and set to work. With only half a day to finish it, I decided to focus on ‘the hook’. If they like it, they will hopefully let me ‘flesh it out’ later.

Here’s the result (finished just in time for the deadline):

What do you think?

PS Another bit of good news: Taxi has forwarded another two pieces, ‘You Make Me Smile’ and ‘Easy Does It’. Cool!

… is the name of an electronic instrumental I just finished today, for film and TV:

And here is another electronic instrumental I finished on Saturday:

The brief was to be creative with samples and electronic grooves, which was great fun.

I hope you like them!        :-)
