… even on a down day
by Markus 'giles' Koehorst on Feb.15, 2010, under musings, Villa de Leyva/Colombia
Today was a down day.
I started the day listening to a song I recorded yesterday, and realised it wasn’t very good. I would have to do it again.
bollocks
From there, the day just seemed to deflate, like a balloon with a tiny hole in it.
pffffffft
Nothing I started seemed to go anywhere, and I felt my energy waning with every unfinished task. All my big plans and ideas of previous days just didn’t seem so enticing today. Why bother?
Possibly the most revered deity in the Vedas (Timeless Reverberations of Nature) is called Shiva, the Destroyer. He is revered because when everything in the relative is destroyed, you are left with nothing but your true Self, that which is beyond everything and which is the basis of everything. This is the ultimate goal for those who seek enlightenment, the ultimate state of Freedom.
In other words, you are more likely to find what you are really looking for when things don’t go your way. That thought lifted my spirits a little.
So what do you do on a down day?
You surrender, and you go for a cappuccino at Cafe Licores, with brownies and icecream.
Then you write about it in your blog
‘Life is Bliss’
and you call it
‘…even on a down day’

from sarah: its nice that even on a down day you can look on the bright side of life and enjoy the things that you have!
from seb: i don’t call cappuccino and ice cream a down day. but nevermind, every clown has some silver linens!

Yeh, we all have our “bum” days. But then something good happens and it seems twice as nice as before.

Can you tell me why the flights to Bogata are so damn expensive!

You should be able to find something for 500 or 600 pounds. Have you tried Air France? And there are lots of agencies that will try and find you cheap flights. Cheapflights.com are good for the UK. Are you thinking of coming over?

Thanks Jacqueline, I will let you know when I write that lullaby.
Did you check out ‘Villa de Leyva’ (see the youtube on the right). I think that sounds a bit like an instrumental lullaby.
