Keith Richards

"I will invite you too"

“Keith Richards is my cousin”, Roger said casually when he heard I was a musician. “Really?!” I said with more than a bit of excitement in my voice.

Keith Richards has been a major inspiration, right from the start. When I first picked up the guitar, I spent days trying to work out how to play ‘Brown Sugar’ on ‘Sticky Fingers’, my favorite Stones album. I can still taste the exitement I felt when I managed to put something together that sounded vaguely like it. To mortal guitarists like me, Keith is a god. His riffs are timeless, and so is his persona.

We were sitting outside a little cafe in Pinoso – Roger, his girlfriend, Greys, Salome and me. Roger is an estate agent in Spain. We were on our way to Malaga to pick up some things I left with friends there, and we decided to use this opportunity to look at some houses on the way. “The next time Keith comes round for dinner, I will invite you too.”

Almost a good enough reason to buy a house from him.
